Civil 3D sheet production guides
Each guide opens with the short answer, then the detail: what is placed on the sheets, the steps,
a worked example and the questions people ask most. For the buttons themselves, see the
documentation .
G-101 Civil 3D sheet set automation Civil 3D sheet set automation means generating the layouts of a sheet set from the model, with viewports, match lines, key maps, title block fields and Sheet Set Manager entries placed for you, then keeping all of it correct as the design changes. The second half is what separates a sheet system from a one-time sheet wizard.
G-102 How to keep Civil 3D sheets updated after alignment and design changes Tie the sheets to tiles in model space rather than to fixed viewport windows. When the alignment or the design moves, update the tiles, then update the sheets: viewports, match lines, key maps and title block fields follow, sheets that did not change are skipped, and Sync SSM brings the sheet set along. Then check coverage and drift before the set issues.
G-103 How civil engineering firms coordinate sheets across multiple disciplines Define the sheet boundaries once and let every discipline inherit them. In SheetAgent for Civil 3D a control drawing holds the tiling; the demolition, existing conditions, grading, erosion control and layout drawings are created from it with viewports located and sized, numbered straight through and enrolled in one sheet set. Move a tile and every discipline follows.
G-104 SheetAgent for Civil 3D compared with CTC Sheet Generator, Kobi Toolkit and Plan Production All four put Civil 3D views on sheets. They differ most after the first build: whether the sheets follow a design change, whether one tiling serves several disciplines and drawings, and whether the set is checked before it issues. The table below takes each product from its own documentation, retrieved on 5 October 2026.
