Setline Inc. (“Setline”, “we”, “our”) builds SheetAgent for Civil 3D, a sheet-layout automation plug-in for Autodesk Civil 3D, and the companion Setline Manager Portal. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why, and how we handle it. It applies to setline.ai, manage.setline.ai, and the SheetAgent for Civil 3D desktop plug-in.
We deliberately collect as little as possible to operate the product, and we do not sell personal data to anyone.
1. What we collect
From the marketing site (setline.ai)
If you submit the trial-request form we collect the fields you fill in: first and last name, work email, company name, website domain, requested team size, and any notes you write. We also see your IP address through standard web logs.
From the Manager Portal (manage.setline.ai)
- Account data. Email address, hashed password, name, and any multi-factor authentication enrollment you complete.
- Company data. Company name, seat count, trial or subscription status, billing contacts.
- Authorized-user records. Email and name of additional managers or users you add to your account.
From the SheetAgent for Civil 3D plug-in (telemetry)
- Email address that the plug-in is signed in with.
- Anonymous machine identifier, session identifier, and plug-in version.
- The Civil 3D command names you run and counts of layouts built, updated, audited, and skipped. We do not read the contents of your drawings or send any drawing data to our servers.
- Diagnostic exception messages when the plug-in encounters an error.
Payments
If you purchase a subscription, payment details are entered directly into our payment processor and never touch our servers. We receive only enough metadata to manage your subscription (Stripe customer ID, subscription status, last four digits of card, billing address).
2. Why we collect it
- To provide and operate SheetAgent for Civil 3D and the Manager Portal.
- To send you transactional email about your account, trial status, billing, and product updates you opt into.
- To compute aggregate usage statistics that we display anonymously on our marketing site (e.g., total layouts built across the fleet). This may include anonymized, non-identifying usage summaries of an individual customer (e.g., case studies), with no company name, user names, or identifying details.
- To detect and prevent abuse, fraud, and bot traffic.
- To meet legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.
3. Who we share it with
We use a small number of sub-processors to operate the product. Each one is bound by their own data-protection terms, and we share only what they need to perform their function:
- Supabase: database, authentication, and multi-factor authentication. Hosted in the United States.
- Postmark (ActiveCampaign LLC): transactional email delivery (welcome, password reset, billing reminders, product updates).
- Stripe: payment processing and subscription management.
- Vercel: web hosting and edge content delivery for setline.ai and manage.setline.ai. Also provides anonymous analytics.
- hCaptcha (Intuition Machines, Inc.): bot defense on sign-up and trial forms. hCaptcha sees your IP address and basic browser characteristics in order to assess whether you are human.
- Microsoft 365: corporate email between you and our team.
- Autodesk Identity: used by the plug-in to link your account to your Autodesk Civil 3D session.
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data to third parties.
4. How long we keep it
- Account data: for as long as your account is active, plus up to 90 days after account closure to handle billing, support, and legal obligations.
- Trial requests that don’t lead to an account: we may delete these periodically once we’ve confirmed they will not be provisioned.
- Telemetry events: retained while you are an active customer so we can produce reports for you. Aggregated, non-identifying totals may be retained longer for our public statistics.
- Audit logs: retained for security and compliance purposes; not deleted on customer request without considering legal obligations.
5. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live (for example, in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, California, or Canada), you may have additional rights, including:
- The right to access the personal data we hold about you.
- The right to correct inaccurate data.
- The right to request deletion of your data, subject to limits where we need to retain it (e.g., for billing or legal reasons).
- The right to receive a copy of your data in a portable format.
- The right to object to or restrict certain processing.
- The right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, email info@setline.ai from the address associated with your account. We will respond within 30 days of receiving your request, or within any shorter deadline required by applicable law.
6. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your data: encrypted connections to all our services (TLS), encrypted storage at rest at our sub-processors, multi-factor authentication for account managers, strict separation between customer data, regular security reviews, and a documented incident-response posture. No system is perfectly secure, but we are committed to making ours as secure as we reasonably can.
7. International data transfers
Our sub-processors are primarily based in the United States. If you access our services from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States. Where applicable, our sub-processors rely on standard contractual clauses or other lawful transfer mechanisms.
8. Children
SheetAgent for Civil 3D is a B2B tool intended for professional engineering and CAD teams. It is not directed at, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from, anyone under 16.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes we will update the “Last updated” date at the top and give at least 30 days’ advance notice by email or in the Manager Portal. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
