Title blocks, north arrows and scale bars
Your own title block comes in as an XREF and becomes _TEMPLATE_TB, the layout every sheet is copied from. Set it and the maximum viewport area once, and every sheet inherits both. This setup comes before any placement mode, and it is also where north arrows, scale bars, match line style and title block attributes are configured.
Import the title block
Set TB is the first setup step. It attaches your title block as an XREF, a linked reference, rather than redrawing it.
Step 1. Press Set TB in the Drawing Setup section.
Step 2. Choose the source. Pick a title block DWG to import it. Or, if you are working from a DWT that already has a layout carrying a title block, select that DWT and then choose the layout you want used.
Step 3. What happens next depends on the source. Importing a DWG creates the _TEMPLATE_TB layout and attaches the title block there as an XREF, on a locked, plottable layer named X-TB followed by your file name. Starting from a DWT, the layout you selected becomes _TEMPLATE_TB.
The locked layer is deliberate. It protects the XREF so a build cannot clobber it, and every sheet is generated from this one _TEMPLATE_TB template.
Next, open _TEMPLATE_TB and define the viewport area with Primary VP. Page setup is set on that layout too, and is only needed when the title block was newly imported: a template usually carries it already, though it is worth cross-checking.
To use a different file later, press Set TB again and pick the new one. Re-importing the same path reuses the existing XREF and removes the old block reference on that layer, so nothing stacks up. Picking a different file lands it on a new X-TB layer, so delete the previous title block reference if you do not want both.
To start clean, use Reset Project Data.
Page setup and paper size
There is no page-setup button, by design. The _TEMPLATE_TB layout owns the page setup, and Build Sheets and Update Sheets copy it to every sheet.
If you started from a DWT with a preset page setup, you can skip this step. It is still worth opening it to confirm the printer and the CTB or STB are right; the few extra seconds are cheaper than a set that plots wrong.
To set or change the paper size, plotter or plot style for all sheets:
Step 1. Switch to the _TEMPLATE_TB layout and set everything there, on that one layout.
Step 2. Press Update Sheets to push it to every sheet.
Do not set page setup on individual sheets. It is overwritten at the next update.
If sheets come out the wrong size, one of two things happened: the page setup was set on a normal sheet instead of _TEMPLATE_TB, or _TEMPLATE_TB was changed and Update Sheets has not been run yet. Either way, fix it on _TEMPLATE_TB and update.
If the plotter or the plot style table shows as missing, that device or style file is not installed on this machine. Install it, set it on _TEMPLATE_TB, then run Update Sheets so the sheets pick it up.
Set the viewport size
Primary VP stores the maximum viewport window that every sheet inherits. You set it on the _TEMPLATE_TB layout, in paper space, not in model space.
Step 1. After Set TB, make sure you are on the _TEMPLATE_TB layout. From model space the button will tell you to switch to a layout first.
Step 2. Press Primary VP in the Drawing Setup section.
Step 3. If a size is already stored it offers the current one. Keep it, or choose to redefine.
Step 4. Define the area either by selecting a closed polyline as the boundary, or by drawing the rectangle yourself from one corner to the opposite corner.
That boundary becomes the maximum viewport on every sheet. If a viewport ends up covering your title block, the boundary was too large: run Primary VP again, choose to redefine, and pick a rectangle that stays inside the border.
On the Multi VP and PDF/Detail tabs the button is called Set Viewport Size and does the same job.
Configure title block attributes
Config Attributes is how you say which block holds your sheet number, sheet title and date, and which attribute carries which value.
Step 1. If the drawing has no attribute block yet, insert one. There has to be a block carrying the attributes before anything can be mapped to them.
Step 2. Press Config Attributes in the Add-ons section of your workflow tab.
Step 3. Pick the title block attribute block and map each attribute to its field.
Step 4. Press Update Sheets to refill the attributes on every sheet.

This is not tied to setup order. It can be done at any time, before or after the sheets are built; Update Sheets pushes it out either way.
How your title block attributes are recognised
Attributes are matched by their tag name, not by their position in the block, so the layout of your title block is yours and nothing needs rearranging.
Matching ignores case and underscores, and it understands the usual ways firms write these. A sheet number is recognised whether the tag reads SHEET_NUMBER, SHEETNO, SHT_NUM, DWG_NO or DRAWING_NUMBER. A sheet title is recognised from SHEET_TITLE, SHEETNAME, DWG_TITLE, TITLE, NAME or DESCRIPTION. A scale is recognised from SCALE, DWG_SCALE, PLOT_SCALE, VP_SCALE or RATIO.
Three things are worth having in the block: the sheet number, the sheet title, and the scale. Area and zone tags are picked up as titles too, and anything else you carry, a date or a project number, can be mapped by hand in Config Attributes.
Some tags are deliberately left alone. Anything containing PAGE or TOTAL is reserved for sheet set page numbering, PLOTSTAMP belongs to AutoCAD, and any attribute already driven by a field is owned by Sheet Set Manager. Those show as read-only rather than being overwritten, because writing them by hand destroys the field.
If your company uses a naming set that is not recognised, tell us. Send the tag names to support@setline.ai and they go into an update, rather than you renaming a title block you have used for years.
Setting up the north arrow and scale bar
Step 1. Make sure the blocks exist. The north arrow and scale bar blocks must be inserted on the _TEMPLATE_TB layout before either can be configured. If your title block does not already carry them, insert them there first.
Step 2. Press Config North Arrow in the Add-ons section. The view switches to _TEMPLATE_TB, and you pick the north arrow block there.
Step 3. Press Config Scale Bar and pick the scale bar block on the same layout.
Step 4. Press Update Sheets. Both are copied to every sheet and scaled per sheet, and the north arrow rotates itself to match each viewport's twist.
If the sheets were already built when you configured these, Update Sheets places the missing blocks onto them. There is no separate backfill step.
This is not tied to setup order. It can be done at any time, before or after the sheets are built; Update Sheets pushes it out either way.
Support viewports: legends, keynotes and schedules
A support viewport carries content that repeats on every sheet, such as a legend, keynotes or a schedule. You define it once on the template and place it once in model space.
Step 1. Press Set Support VP on the palette. It takes you to the _TEMPLATE_TB layout automatically. Draw the rectangle where the support viewport should sit on the sheet and give it a name. Repeat for as many as you need: legend, keynotes, schedules and so on.
Step 2. In model space, press Preview Support VP and locate the tile. Each tile carries the name you gave it in Set Support VP, so several are easy to tell apart. Move or adjust it as you wish.
Step 3. Press Update Sheets and the sheets follow.
The update is add-only, so content you have edited inside an existing support viewport is kept. If you move the template rectangles on _TEMPLATE_TB later, press Refresh Support VP to push the change out without a full rebuild.
Template edits not showing on sheets
The _TEMPLATE_TB layout is the source of truth for sheet decorations, but editing it does not change existing sheets on its own. The change has to be pushed out.
Step 1. Make the edit on _TEMPLATE_TB: move the north arrow, scale bar or key map label, or redefine a support viewport rectangle.
Step 2. Press Update Sheets. The new positions flow to every built sheet.
If nothing changed, the edit was most likely made on a normal sheet layout rather than _TEMPLATE_TB, or Update Sheets has not been run. Make the change on _TEMPLATE_TB and update.
A template drift warning in Health means the template has changed since the last build. Update Sheets clears it. Your own per-sheet edits, anything other than the managed decorations, are not overwritten by an update.
When the north arrow is missing or wrong
These are two different problems and it is worth telling them apart before doing anything.
If the north arrow is absent, the block was never configured. Press Config North Arrow in the Add-ons section, select the block on _TEMPLATE_TB, then press Update Sheets. It copies to every sheet and scales itself.
If the arrow is there but pointing the wrong way, it is a rotation question. Press Verify North Arrow. It compares the computed north angle against the live indicator block in model space and reports the status. If no indicator is found, run Create Preview first to place one.
When the indicator has been rotated by hand you get an Accept or Revert prompt. Accept keeps your rotation as the new angle; Revert resets it to the computed one. Either way, run Update Sheets afterwards.
Moving the north arrow on _TEMPLATE_TB is flagged by Health as template position drift. The new position flows to every sheet at the next Update Sheets.
